Jennifer Wright has been an accomplished Hair and Makeup Artist for over 15 years. She has also held a California Cosmetology License since 2003. Jennifer has worked in a salon environment as a hairdresser and also in a retail environment for many years. She has always had a passion for makeup and in more recent years has continued to build her amazing portfolio as a freelance Hair and Makeup Artist. Some of her recent credits include an editorial spread in Elements Magazine, Miss California Pageant and an album Cover for Felecia – Bone Thugs in Harmony. She has been actively teaching alongside April Love since 2011, the opening of our academy. Jennifer’s work with accomplished photographer Roberto Valenzuela was chosen as Canon’s premier advertising image for 2016.

Q. How long have you been a makeup artist?
A. 15yrs
Q. What inspires you?
A. Art, music, nature.
Q. How did you get into teaching?
A. I noticed very early in my career, that I was always trying to teach my clients little tricks for their daily make up routine. I realized that I loved to teach. I teach what I have learned during my career as well as things I have picked up from many amazing and inspiring artists that I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
Q. What advice do you have for an aspiring mua?
A. Never stop learning or taking mental notes. Absorb all that you learn from other artists. Always strive to learn new things.
Q. What would you say is an essential makeup tool or product for the everyday women?
A. Concealer and the Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler
Q. What do you love most about makeup?
A. Being able to express my creativity. Seeing my clients smile when they get up from my chair because they look and feel great, always brings a smile to my face
