8. WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A MAKEUP SCHOOL?
As our Academy Beauty Blogger Bernadette’s says:
“If you want to be a professional makeup artist, you have to know a lot more than YouTube makeup tips, or how to do eye makeup on yourself. That’s the difference between a professional makeup artist, and a savvy makeup junkie. You’ll have to learn how to do makeup on all types of skin colors, face shapes, eyes shapes, and personal styles. You’ll have to know how to work with different brands and types of makeup. You’ll have to know how to make a woman (and sometimes man) look and feel flawless, to be camera-ready. The right school will teach you not only how to do all of this, but will also provide you with the right tools (I’m talking makeup kit here!) and resources (job opportunities, or internships) to succeed in such a competitive industry. After graduating from the right makeup school, you should have the confidence to take over the industry, by beautifying one model at a time. April Love Pro Makeup Academy provides aspiring artists with all of this and more.”
9. WHO TEACHES THE COURSES?
Master Educator and Owner April Love teaches a majority of the beauty courses herself! We also have an amazing team of other instructors as well, we encourage you to check out their Bio pages here on our site! Our requirement for instructors is at least over 10 years’ experience. We are very selective about who teaches our courses, afterall you are only as good as the teacher! We also have other makeup artists with real industry experience serving as assistant instructors. This allows for constant feedback and one-on-one attention. Sometimes we have a guest speaker, but April is never far from the classroom. All students have access to their instructors at all times and our staff builds long lasting relationships with our students. Our graduates become a part of our family and frequently come back to retake courses, visit and work in our classroom.
10. WHAT ARE THE COURSES LIKE?
We pride ourselves in small classroom size, and one-on-one attention. Between the master educator and her assistant instructors the student/teacher ratio is usually 3 to 1. The academy happily provides all the necessary material needed for the best education possible. Between informative lectures, demos, and hands-on training, students get the most for their time.
11. CAN I REALLY RETAKE THE COURSES FOR LIFE?
Yes! No gimmicks. No hidden fees. No lab fees. Once you are a student with April, our doors are open to you for LIFE!
